Frugality In light of recent monetary shortcomings, I've learned to appreciate discount and consignment stores. Now I really must work sales racks. For instance, Mervyn's had a great deal on flannel sheets - a complete sheet set, regardless of the size - $19.95. I also got a matching duvet cover for another $20. A lil on the rough side, but nothing a few washes with double Downy power won't cure. Then, I popped my head into Ross. Got two pairs of the cute bowling style shoes. The red pair was $12, the black $13. AND they're comfy to boot. I guess I'm just gonna have to continue these shopping habits when I get a new job. Another store I've come to embrace is Buffalo Exchange. There's one in SF that is close to sNob Hill...all the ladies up there turn in their BR/DKNY/JCrew/A&F clothing after the season is done....cuz lord knows you're not supposed to wear anything through two seasons!! This works to a BE shopper's advantage. $5 for a BR sweater with no indication that it's even been worn! SCORE! I kick myself for not listening to friends about what real shopping is all about. My new edict - I will not pay more than $30 for any piece of clothing (save outerwear). Now, to find a job.

Ain't life grand? Well, I got laid off a few weeks ago. While working on the ole resume, I've had a chance to catch up with daytime TV. One show just blew my mind....Fish On! One guy, three chicks (bikini clad) fishing in exotic places. Most of the half hour was spent with the camera panning onto the girls and them making faces at the camera. Show me sexy...show me sultry....bait the hook. Thanks to ESPN2, there is a new genre of fishing show. I also watched Beg, Borrow and Deal. That's kind of a fun race across the country - doing sports related challenges. They met CWebb. I'm so happy basketball has started up again. Yay!
