Swim Fishy Swim My horoscope reads: The past remains vividly alive, and perhaps this is leaving you somewhat daunted when it comes to the next level of commitment, whether it be allegiance to a certain person, place, thing or idea. The truth is that you are not now, nor have you been for a while, the person you were way back then. Relax, you won't repeat the same mistakes. Not only did you learn a great deal the last time you messed up, but the resulting pain caused you to evolve in many mysterious ways. Its always hard to jump back into the saddle. I just hope the cinch on the saddle ain't broke.

I asked my roommate..."How many rounds of phone tag do you go through before you stop." They said..."I guess if it ever happened to me,...I'd keep playing until one person gets bored." I then went to my room and dialed a number. Tag....he's it.

Was NOT that girl...in case anyone was wondering if I did the whole "Swingers" thing and call back last night to clarify my message, then call back to clarify THAT message, and let the whole evil cycle perpetuate...well.... I didn't.

Sheepish Steel I don't know what the heck I just did. So.... Saturday, I met a guy, who asked me out on a date. I said I would. I was out dancing with a couple of my friends, when I guess he decided to leave. He did something that I don't think has happened before. He left the next phase of contact to me - he gave his number to my friend to give to me. I've carried it with me for the past couple of days....it's kind of been burning a hole in my pocket. So....after pacing a track in my already worn carpet, I was waffling back and forth between calling him and not calling him - when it hit me...I've got nothing to lose. Or do I -- evidently, it's quite possibly my sense of pride -- cuz I left the most audaciously businessike message - I identified myself, left different forms of contact, and then politely said..."thank you" and "bye" What in the hell was I thinking???? Who the heck says "thank you" when making a personal call. Shouldn't I have said, "hope to hear from you soon."? I'm sure he's gonna think I'm some stiff suit. Which I'm not, just horribly nervous. ACK! I'm gonna go hide under my covers now, and see if the phone will ring, and if it does and there is hysterical laughter on the other end of the line, I'll just die. G'night. *shudder*

Shoeless Steel So...I was invited to play ball at a gym....I guess that's the new thing now. Invitational basketball gyms. I've been putting off playing, because my current ballin' shoes aren't up to snuff. I have a pair of CW's from like 5 years ago - and I'm finding the more games I run, the more I need more comfortable shoes. I was looking for some new ones, but, it's helluv hard to find any that are easy to break in and are comfortable. I think I may need to go the way of T-Mac and go Adidas. Cuz of the double sock thing, I can wear a guys 6.5 or 7....we'll just have to see. Anyways, I did go by the gym yesterday -- good competition- these fellas are serious ballers. It seemed like everyone was pretty evenly matched skillwise...there was one team of guys who's average height were 6'4". Um...riight.... most of the other players are Asian. Terrible mismatches. I didn't play, just wanted to watch, this time. There were only two other girls there to play....but, damn, they're good. :) I think it'll be good to start running with the fellas... hopefully, I won't run into too many walls.

On a sidebar -- It's kind of cool yet, kind of eerie seeing Aaliyah on the screen as Akasha. Anyways...I'm off to watch the Superbowl. Wheee.
