A quiet goodbye... They closed Ground Zero today.

And the roar of the crowd died down.... Last night I went to watch the Kings/Laker game over at the Bayside Sportsbar. To my amazement, there were a ton of Lakers' fans in the bar. I hooted and hollared for the Kings, and eventually as the momentum of the game kept gaining in favor of Sacto, more King's fans became vocal (I'm guessing the beer helped too). Anyways, I had to keep a tight lip because the bar would go crazy whenever Shaq scored. Now, I'm not sure -- was it for the fact that he actually scored or that he was just doing it in his normal fashion -- post up, go middle and either slam it or do a light layup in. And yes, sheer size does have something to do with it. He complains that his toe hurts, well, he should ask the other centers who try to guard him how their toes hurt after trying to guard him. Sheesh. By the end of the game though, nary a peep was heard from the Lakers except when they were begging for them to get it to No. 8. Heh heh. Anyhooz, here's my sports analysis of the post season for the Kings. 1) Get the big boys in foul trouble - that way it opens up the middle 2) Set the pick and roll. CWebb's screen that opened Mike Bibby's last second 3 pointer -- money. Should be doing that all day. That way when Bibby draws the double, he can dish to Turkuglo or Webber. 3) I love CWebb, but, Tyra, stop wearing the boy out before game time!!!!! He couldn't hit his free throws this game, and LORD! he left his man, Horry, on Sunday - and what is UP with that lazy little hook shot??? Take it strong, Chris!!! 4) Give it to Mike. Bobby Jackson doens't swing the ball. It rarely makes it to the other side. Mike Bibby is a great leader out there and he can get the job done. Thankfully he's been given a chance to prove it.

Now, if the Celtics can just get their other men to drop some points...but, that's for another day. Go Boston! Go Paul Pierce!! :) (I think the Kings/Celtics final will make for a more interesting series)

Ok, I'm done blammering. I'm just trying to get a lil spot with Charles Barkley... I would LOVE to get the chance to do a bit of sports talk with him. He just cracks me up. Anyways. Lates.

Back to Nature I went camping for a night this weekend. Camping is not what I remembered it. But, then again at age 7, you don't do a whole lot except keep a careful watch out for those monster mosquito hawks, so that they don't get caught in yer pigtails. The tent went up rather easy, and there was a fire pit, so, we bought a cord of firewood and roasted marshmallows after bbq'ing steaks and oysters. Then took a nice hot shower. Yep, showers. AND a clean toilet. AND TOILET PAPER!! Whoo!

The drive up Highway 1 is a nice curvy drive, if you have the time. The North California coastline is just beautiful. Even if it's foggy. I wish I had my camera with me (serious brainfart occurred). Unfortunately, the place that we stayed at had each little lot very close together, so, you heard every 5 a.m. risers business and basically willed yourself to get up, since you couldn't sleep through the racket. So, no sleeping in on Sunday. Got back on Sunday to watch the Kings/Lakers game. Damn those Lakers.

Monday -- ah...sleeping in...though I was insane enough to tell my friend that I'd go to a yoga class with her at 9. When I woke up in a panic at 8:30, I discovered she had left the house. Only to return about 15 minutes later with a few dozen eggs, cuz she had gotten hungry. We all decided to walk to breakfast then over to the gym to workout, though no yoga for us.

Then there's today. Back to the grind. Whee. Union Street Festival is this next weekend. Oh..and it's pay day!! Yay!!!!
