Hoorah, it's Friday! And here is a Friday Five
1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from? Chinese. Mainland China.
2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit? Well..that would be China
3. Which would you least like to visit? Why? Hm...redundancy.
4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage? Chinese New Year (I think I celebrate more Japanese festivals than Chinese..how odd)
5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)? Gram and Gramps on Dad's side. Way back on Mom's side.
Happy things Sangria, Ceviche, and Black Bean soup at ChaChaCha in the Haight. Watching the SF ProAm men's game at Kezar. Dancing with friends. Getting winning hands in poker when you don't expect it. Friends, friends, friends.
Pure Steel

The brighter side of July I'll admit it, though things continue to stay a little rough around the edges, July was not a bad month. There was a warm spell here in the City. I've made forays into finding a place to live out here. I've gotten out quite a bit. My Saturday night gigs help a lot. I'm getting to know a lot of new people and I'm not gonna jinx anything by saying that I'm over it, cuz I'm not 100% over it - but, day by day it gets better. And who knows where things will lead in other areas. It's funny when you go back to read entries that you've written. You see the depth of emotion or lack there of..and you can sit back and say...wow...people are right when they say time heals. It's a matter of whether you let it or not. Let's see...what else did July hold? Well, the team I played volleyball with went from last place to taking the championship. :) I went to a decathalon. That was fun. I went to Tahoe. I got to formally meet PC and I'm slowly cultivating a friendship with him. Good days had, and more good days to come. :)
Didn't wanna hate.... I guess I should comment a bit more on yesterdays post on E-40. It must be tough economic times for all. Even though he was rollin' deep...and he'd just released a new album....Forty Watah caused my friend T.O. a bit of disallusionment: instead of dumpin' down a playas wad on the table, E-40 dug deep into his jeans and out of the pocket came a crumpled-up old 20. In T.O.'s words, "I have a crumpled twenty in my pocket...I can do that...c'mon now?" Yes, reality set in for T. Even rappers have twenties, too.

Sprinkle Me Sprinkle Me Was up in Tahoe this weekend for a lil getaway. Went wandering through Harrah's, Ceasar's and Harvey's. While at Ceasar's we were watching some of the fellas play Pai Gow poker when who should walk up to the next table but, 40 watah himself - E-40 and accompanying his entourage - B. Legit. All in all a good weekend. The guys took the Double A division championship for the basketball tourney. Yay.
